November President's Message
Some of you may have
noticed that the website was not available for a couple of days toward the
end of October. Due to an oversight of a yearly payment to our web service
provider, we recently lost our home page for a short period of time. It has
since been taken care of, and everyone should be able to access the site
again. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have created.
The next few months are
going to be full of dancing opportunities. Upcoming PVD events include a
dance at the Eagles on November 29 (the Saturday after Thanksgiving). Bob
and Christine Nelson from North Platte will be providing the music for the
evening, and will also be teaching a fox trot class. Come join in the fun
and dance off a few of those calories that you consume on Thanksgiving Day.
December 13th is
our annual Christmas dinner and dance at the Eagles. The dance will be free
to Club members, and we will have our usual optional gift exchange. Carolyn
will be sending out an e-mail closer to the time with all of the details
including the menu and a deadline for making reservations.
The Club is in the process
of putting together a dance workshop scheduled for January 2009. This will
be the third annual Dance Like A Star workshop, and we hope this one will be
just as successful as the previous two. More details will be published as
Ronda and Kirby finalize the agenda.
On February 14th,
PVD and the Heartland Dancers will host a joint Valentines dance at the
Holdrege Auditorium. More details will follow, but you can count on plenty
of room to dance and lots of great food.
On March 21st we
have rented Babel’s Barn in Wood River for a Club dance. Royce Schott will
be the DJ for the evening. This should be a fun road trip, and you won’t
want to miss it.
We will have monthly
updates on each of these events, so be sure to keep checking the website.
Until next month,
Tom Farber
President
